How to Make Chocolate Sauce

 Total Time: 20 minutes                                                                   Serving: 1½ cups



White sugar

¾ cup

All-purpose flour

1 ½ tablespoons

Cocoa powder (unsweetened)

½ cup


¼ cup


2 tablespoons


½ teaspoon


A tiny pinch


  • In a bowl, mix the sugar, flour and cocoa powder well until there are no clumps in the mixture.

  • Put a pan over medium heat, add butter, milk and vanilla and heat this until the butter has melted.

  • Slowly whisk the dry ingredients into the pan, small amounts at a time. After all the mixture has been added in, increase the heat to medium-high to get the chocolate sauce simmering.

  • Continue to cook, stirring this constantly for around 6 minutes and then turn off heat.

  • Add in the pinch of salt once the pan is removed from heat.

  • The sauce is ready to use, or can be stored in an air tight container stored in the refrigerator to use later.
