Spanish Desserts

Don’t we all agree that Spanish pastry shops are one of a kind? Spanish desserts are famous across the globe and you can find a Spanish pastry shop at every nook and corner. Cakes and pastries are the modern type of Spanish sweets, but there are some traditional Spanish sweets that are equally famous and mouthwatering.





All-purpose flour

1 cup

Sugar (white)

1 cup

Almonds (blanched and finely chopped)

½ cup

Lemon zest

1 tablespoon

Egg (beaten)


Cold water

1 teaspoon

Chocolate chips

12 ounces

  1. In a bowl beat soften butter thoroughly with high speed. Add sugar to this butter and mix until it makes a foamy mixture.

  2. Add lemon zest, almonds and all-purpose flour to it and gently mix until all the ingredients combine together.

  3. Divide this mixture into three portions and place in a cool place (refrigerator) for about 1 hour.

  4. After an hour, take the mixture out and spread on tray, cut the pieces of about 2 ½ inches (standard cookie size).

  5. Place them in greased tray and put them in oven to bake for 8-10 minutes.

  6. In a separate bowl, put egg and beat it well, then add cold water. Apply this mixture over the cookies as glaze before putting into oven.

  7. Take another microwave bowl and add chocolate chips to it, microwave until they all becomes smooth and melted. Serve the delicious cookies with the dip.
